He made the statement sitting down behind a desk that obscured his lower body at the company's headquarters in Menlo Park, CA. Meta has made a massive bet on the sucess of the metaverse, with Mr. Zuckerburg leading the charge. The company may spend as much as $100 billion over the next five years on metaverse-related efforts.
To date, Horizon Worlds, the company's flagship metaverse product, lacked the ability for users to render and animate legs on avatars. It appears that Zuck is all in. He was said to have remarked that "the legs had to come from somewhere, right?...right?" before donating them.
